The Sequoia Lodge is a stunning new addition to our portfolio and to the world of luxury retreats, seamlessly blending modern design with intimate elegance. Below is a closer look at the vision behind the Sequoia Lodge, as shared by its lead designer:
The design of the Sequoia Lodge’s originated from a study of the existing accommodation types for the increasingly popular couples holiday market. At present this market is predominately served by hotels in the traditional setting or by pod / shepherd hut style accommodation and within a park setting. The other alternative within the park environment is the for couple take out a larger 2/3 bed lodge which is beyond their needs and usually comes at higher price.
Our view was although the pod/shepherd huts would be adequate for the short term/ weekender holiday, there was an opportunity for a larger more luxurious style single accommodation for the 7 day and longer stays. With the majority of lodge parks design formats being based on the twin lodge we decided to design a semi detached lodge that would compliment the traditional park base arrangement. And so was born the Sequoia Lodge.
The first Sequoia Lodge has been designed and constructed for Faringdon Grange in Oxfordshire. The design is based on a suite style accommodation with a large open plan lounge, dining & bedroom area, with a separate spacious bathroom.
The bathroom has everything one would expect to find a 5 star luxury hotel. The large rainfall shower & w.c. are concealed from view as you enter the space with the first view being a large freestanding bath with feature wall behind. The bathroom also comes with every couples need, a set of twin basins.
The living and bedroom space has a large window and double doors which allows abundant natural light in and also the opportunity to take advantage of any views that may be available. The lodge is also equipped with a compact but very functional kitchenette which allows the couple to whip up a gourmet breakfast or romantic dinner.
The dividing wall has been designed to ensure proper fire and sound integrity between the 2 compartments, but with an interlinking door to allow for the flexibility of a shared family or group arrangement.
